The short version
- You are responsible for the allergen information you enter. AllergenChart lays it out, prints it and publishes it; it cannot check your recipes.
- The free matrix tool is free. The paid plan is £19 a month after a 14-day free trial.
- Cancel any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- These terms are for businesses. English law applies.
1. Who we are and who these terms are for
AllergenChart is run by (“we”, “us”). Contact us at .
These terms apply when you use AllergenChart, with or without an account. AllergenChart is for food businesses: by using it you confirm you are using it for a business, not as a consumer. If you use it for a business you do not own, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for that business.

2. What AllergenChart does
Free tool. Anyone can make an allergen matrix or allergen sheet and download it as a PDF, without an account.
Paid plan. An account adds a saved, editable matrix and sheet, a public venue page with a QR poster, labels for prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) food, a change log, and menu import. We may improve or change features, but will not take away the main features of the paid plan during a period you have paid for.
3. Your allergen information is your responsibility
This is the most important part of these terms.
- You are responsible for making sure every dish, ingredient and allergen you enter, import or publish is accurate, complete and up to date, including when a recipe, supplier or product changes.
- AllergenChart shows and prints what you enter. It does not check your recipes, ingredients, suppliers or kitchen practices, and it does not know about cross-contamination risks unless you record them.
- Using AllergenChart helps you meet your duties under the Food Information Regulations 2014 and the rules for PPDS food (“Natasha’s Law”), but it does not guarantee that you meet them. The Food Standards Agency’s guidance is the reference for what you must provide.
- Allergens suggested by menu import, or by ingredient hints, are guesses from names only. You must check and correct them before you print or publish anything.
- Your staff must still be able to answer allergen questions. Keep printed information current and do not rely on the venue page being available at every moment.
4. Your account
Give us accurate details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
5. Plan, trial and payment
- The paid plan costs £19 a month. If we charge VAT, it is shown at checkout and on your invoice.
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial. Your card is taken at the start and first charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. One trial per venue.
- After that you are billed monthly in advance, on the same day each month. Stripe processes all payments.
- If a payment fails, we may pause the paid features until it is paid.
- We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before changing the price. The new price applies from your next billing date after the notice ends.
6. Cancelling and ending
- You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. You keep the paid features until the end of the current billing period (or trial). We do not refund part months, except where the law requires it.
- When the paid plan ends, your venue page goes offline and the paid features stop. Your menus stay in your account until you delete it, and the free tool stays available.
- We may end the service for you with 30 days’ notice, and refund any period you have paid for but will not receive. We may suspend or end it straight away if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
7. Using AllergenChart fairly
Do not:
- publish allergen information you know to be wrong or misleading
- upload anything unlawful or harmful, or content you do not have the right to use
- try to get around usage limits, access other people’s data, or disrupt the service
- copy the service or resell it without our written agreement
8. Your content and ours
Your menus, dishes and ingredients stay yours. You let us store, process and display them as needed to run the service, including publishing your venue page while it is switched on.
The software, templates and the AllergenChart name belong to us. You may print and use the PDFs you make for your own business.
9. Availability
We aim to keep AllergenChart running all the time but cannot promise it will never be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of a problem with a supplier.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be limited.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or harm arising from allergen or ingredient information that you entered, imported, approved or published, or failed to update.
- We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees you paid us in that period.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter to account holders we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
